2014 NiiS Medical Excess Claims Conference Agenda Now Available!

The agenda for the 25th Annual Northshore Medical Excess Claims Conference has been posted on the NiiS Conference web page.

Since 1989, Northshore International has provided a forum for medical excess claim professionals to meet with their peers and industry experts to discuss current and emerging topics impacting medical claims and excess coverages.

The 25th Annual Northshore Medical Excess Claims Conference will be held May 7-9, 2014 at the historic Hawthorne Hotel in Salem Massachusetts.

The 2014 topics will include changes in hospital reimbursement models, catastrophic medical costs trends, Medicare based reimbursement models, surgical implants and innovative approaches for controlling case management/vendor costs. The conference will also include sessions discussing challenges in specific excess claims and concludes with a roundtable discussion led by founder and Chief Executive Officer, David W. Ives, CPCU.

October 2013 Lorraine Mojica joins Northshore

Lorraine Mojica, JD, CPCU, AIC, API, AIS, AINS  joined Northshore on October 28, 2013, as Claims Director, providing Property / Casualty technical auditing and consulting services to Northshore’s more than 300 insurance and reinsurance clients.  She conducts operational reviews of delegated underwriting authorities, and insurance and reinsurance claims reviews of Third Party Administrators for domestic carriers, Lloyd’s Syndicates and the London Market.  Ms. Mojica also assists in the recovery efforts of Property / Casualty subrogated claims for interested insurers and self-insureds.

Ms. Mojica has been an insurance professional for more than ten years and has management experience, including claims administration, staff leadership, talent development, strategic planning, cost containment, process improvement and operational streamlining. 

Her technical claims experience of Property and Casualty coverages is complemented by her background as a practicing litigation attorney.  She is admitted to practice law in the state and federal courts of Massachusetts and New Hampshire as well as the United States Supreme Court.

Ms. Mojica has achieved several significant insurance designations, including: Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter; Associate in Claims; Associate in Personal Insurance; Associate in Insurance Services; and Associate in General Insurance. 

She is a member of the Boston Chapter of the CPCU Society and is a Notary Public in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 

Ms. Mojica is fluent in Spanish.
